Prayer of the Day
O God, you declare your almighty power chiefly in showing mercy and pity. Grant us the fullness of your grace, that, pursuing what you have promised, we may share your heavenly glory; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Holy Gospel according to Luke.
1 Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near to listen to [Jesus.] 2 And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, “This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
MESSAGE IN A PARAGRAPH OR TWO
After the above introduction, Jesus uses two parables to teach how different God is from humans. One parable is about a shepherd who leaves 99 sheep in search of one lost sheep.
The other is about a woman who loses a coin and keeps looking until she finds it.
Unlike humans who prefer to stay within our families and churches, Jesus pursues those who stray from God. He does not want any of us to be lost. He rejoices over those who are recovered.
