Let us pray.
Almighty God, with joy we celebrate the festival of our Lord’s resurrection. Graciously help us to show the power of the resurrection in all that we say and do; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

A LESSON FROM FIRST PETER
8 Although you have not seen him, you love him, and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

The above lesson was written to people who lived a generation after Jesus. However, through the Jesus stories they had heard many times, they knew Jessus. Try reading the lesson as if Peter was speaking to you personally.
All of the promises that come from God are given to us because of the resurrection through your faith. God in Spirit is our companion throughout our earthly life. When our work on earth is finished, God’s heavenly kingdom awaits us. We receive his promises through faith.
