A LESSON FROM MATTHEW
14 “You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. 15 People do not light a lamp and put it under the bushel basket; rather, they put it on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
MESSAGE IN A PARAGRAPH OR TWO
Jesus used the imagery of light to teach us that we have been created to who Christ to everyone we encounter (even our enemies). Since God has made us to be the light of the world, why would we choose to hide it. As it was said at our baptism, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.
