A LESSON FROM MATTHEW
23 “Look, the virgin shall become pregnant and give birth to a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”
which means, “God is with us.”
MESSAGE IN A PARAGRPH OR TWO
The above sentences are from Matthew’s birth story. It teaches us that Joseph was righteous and had King David as his ancestor. But, of key importance is a name given to Jesus. It comes from a passage from Isaiah. They shall name him Emmanuel,”
which means, “God is with us.”
With Christmas, we look back to the birth of Jesus. We look forward to his promised coming again. And we celebrate Emmanual God with us. Our Gods, in Spirit, is with us today forgiving, healing, and setting people free. Emmanuel, God is with us.
