A READING FROM SECOND THESSALONIANS

16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and through grace gave us eternal comfort and good hope, 17 comfort your hearts and strengthen them in every good work and word.

 

MESSAGE IN A PARAGRAPH OR TWO

          In this letter, Paul cautions the Thessalonians about those who would deceive them about the coming of Christ. He also gives thanks for them that God has chosen them to belong to God. The passage ends with the above paragraph.

          We have been called, through the gospel, to be people of God. Our purpose is to increase God’s kingdom through loving service, forgiveness, and joy. The news and social media can deceive us and throw us way off of our purpose. We need to remember who we are and not allow ourselves to become people of the world
