A READING FROM LUKE
17 He (Jesus) came down with them and stood on a level place with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea, Jerusalem, and the coast of Tyre and Sidon. 18 They had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases, and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured.

On that level place, Jesus was present with people from many places. While the Catholic tradition recognizes saints a super-Christians, the Bible never uses the word saint that way. Saints in the Bible are all or us. There are saints above and saints on Earth.
This Sunday is All Saints Sunday. It is a date set aside to remember and give thanks for all of those whom we have loved and have gone before us. They are still a part of us. And, one day we will be reunited with those we love.
